Dharamshala Famous For

Dharamshala is a hill station in Himachal Pradesh state of India , it is famous for Tibetean religious and political capital in India and for a beautiful cricket stadium ( HPCA ) .

Nainital is one of the most beautiful place of India. Mall Road is the main street and most happening place in Nainital, Constructed during British colonial rule, the Mall road is located along with Naini Lake. locals & tourists(including Indian and foreign) are often found strolling on this road in the evenings.Mall road has a number of showrooms, shops, restaurants and cafes, handicraft products of Uttarakhand like locally designed woollen cloths, branded cloths.

Matheran

Nestled amidst the Sahyadri range on the Western Ghats, Matheran is a cosy little hill station that stands at an elevation of 2600 feet above sea level, and is just 100 kilometres away from Mumbai, making it the perfect weekend getaway. With its name literally translating to “overhead forest”, Matheran is the smallest hill station in all of India, but it is extremely popular in terms of tourists looking for a short trip amid spectacular vistas and serenity.

Matheran is one of the very few places in the world that do not allow any vehicles at all, so the moment you step into this little town, you will be transported back to an idyllic old-world era of red-soiled roads, automobile-free pathways, and lush green hills all around. The cold breeze and the fresh air devoid of pollution is reason enough for tourists to throng to Matheran all year round.

As with any other hill station, Matheran is famous for its viewpoints. It has a total of 36 viewpoints from where you can enjoy alluring views of the Sahyadri mountain range, the most popular of them being Echo Point, Alexander Louisa Point, Panorama Point and Porcupine Point. Most of these points have easy trekking trails, and they offer sweeping views of the mountains, the sunrise, sunset, and everything in between! Deoria Tal

Sometimes places which are nearby are often underestimated by us, Matheran is one such place. We absolutely loved everything about Matheran and exceeded my expectation.

We visited in December. Cost of hotels increase by 30 to 40 percent in December. Even November last week prices are quite reasonable so plan accordingly.

We took a local train to Nerul station. Unfortunately being a weekend toy trains were full and people were waiting in line for 3–4 hours to get the tickets. Each toy train gives only 120 tickets and each person standing in the Que can take max 4 tickets. So we were left with the option of using a share cab till Aman Logde Railway station. It costed us 80 rs per seat which is fixed.

From Aman Lodge railway station it takes 15 mins by toy train to reach matheran or 1 hour walk along the tracks. Trains have a frequency of once every 1 to 1.5 hours. We walked down..and enjoyed the mini shops and eateries around the tracks as we missed the train and would have to wait for 1.5 hours for the next train. But walking is also enjoyable.
